Kumoya is hosting the first LINE Friends pop-up café in Singapore and South East Asia from 21 Oct 2022 for a limited period only, and our Lyfeportal writer has first-hand updates to share!
If you haven’t heard of them, BT21 is a series of LINE Friends characters created by popular K-pop Boy group BTS members. The café is split into two sections. The BT21 world features eight characters: Koya, RJ, Shooky, Mang, Chimmy, Tata, Cooky and Van. The LINE Friends section includes iconic characters Brown, Cony, Choco and Sally.

The menu includes six snacks, eight mains, three desserts and 10 drinks with prices ranging from $11.90 to $28.90. The adorable food designs are curated by award-winning food blogger Shirley Wong, or better known as Little Miss Bento.

The food is generally pretty good for a themed-café where the focus is usually more on presentation than taste.

Among the mains we tried, we recommend the RJ and Koya Honey Butter Fried Chicken with Mini Brioche Toast, and Brown and Cony Cheese Burger with Spicy Kimchi Mayo.

I personally like the tater tots especially when it’s served hot. Most of the drinks are on the sweeter side, but they have quite a wide range of choices.

My favourite was actually the cute desserts. Both the churros and chocolate lava cake were tasty but overall quite sweet (they are desserts after all!). Certainly, a great way to end my meal.

Overall, the café is worth a visit if you’re a fan of BT21 or LINE Friends (or both). 10/10 for cuteness. There is also a small merchandise section where you can get your hands on adorable merch.
Here are some honest reviews from LINE Friends’ fans we bumped into at the café:
“Great for photos. The food’s nubbad. Drinks are sweet if you have a sweet tooth! But I wish there was more merch on sale.” - LINE fan
“I love the decorations and exclusive plush curated for this pop-up cafe! I’m simply living my LINE dream!” - Avid LINE fan, Ms Shi
The café is not halal-certified but they are a Muslim-friendly and inclusive dining place with no pork, no lard and no alcohol. All the ingredients are also sourced from major Halal distributors and suppliers.
Do take note that there is a minimum order of one food item per person and there may be a dining limit of 75mins.
